BIG, big transfer news coming down the wire for K-State today.

Sources tell me this morning that Cal transfer Carlos Strickland, a former four-star recruit in the Class of 2015 who ranked #12 among receivers, #17 in Texas, and #132 overall by Rivals, has indeed confirmed with the K-State coaching staff his intentions to join the Wildcat program.

Word is that Strickland, a Skyline High alum from Dallas (who has produced names like Marquel Bryant & Mike Moore for K-State), has been in Manhattan the last 24 hours or so and will leave later this afternoon as a new addition. Oklahoma State had also been involved for the wideout, who announced his intent to transfer from the Pac-12 on August 6.

As a Golden Bear, Strickland redshirted in 2015 and was anticipated to make a major impact for Sonny Dykes this fall with Cal needing to replace their top six receivers. He was already gaining major praise for his outstanding consistency and highlight reel receptions but preferred to be "closer to home" after his grandfather recently became ill. Regular flights from MHK to Dallas will provide him easy, regular access to visit family.

The 6-foot-4 (nearly 6-foot-5), 200-pound target could report to campus as soon as this weekend. After sitting out this season due to NCAA transfer rules, Strickland is expected to have 3 years of eligibility remaining for the Wildcats.

Official word from Strickland could come at any time via social media - @CStricklandii
