Kansas State hasn't scored a first-quarter touchdown on offense at home this season. No. 2 TCU has reached the end zone 12 times in the first quarter with Trevone Boykin zipping eight touchdown passes to three different pass catchers, including connections of 61, 60, 49 and 29 yards.

This is the kind of game that K-State quarterback Joe Hubener believes a competitor lives to play in during a college football Saturday.

"You want to get into these kinds of games because you want to prove yourself," Hubener said during the Wildcats' weekly news conference Tuesday. "You can't prove yourself playing against the 112th-ranked team. You need these opportunities against these quality programs where you can come out and shock the world, essentially.

"If we come in and get an upset Saturday that's huge and that really shows something about this team. We want these types of opportunities."
