As I was driving last night I had a thought about what the potential for this team could be in terms of the last 30ish years. For the record, I love Skylar, I think he was dealt a bad hand early in his career and has not developed to his fullest potential. Saying that he has plateaued and we know who he is. I think even with a successful season he is maybe a fringe Top 10 QB in Kstate history. My quick list is Bishop, Klein, Roberson, Beasley, Waters/May are my top 6 easy. Then you have some other guys like Ertz, Miller, Skylar, and Freeman who present a season or two of success or good individual seasons. I dont know that Skylar could move past May, as he won 18 games in two years as the starter and had the big win in the Copper bowl. Skylar does have impressive wins over good OU teams, but no post season wins and his best season has been 8-5. My top teams are as follows: 98, 12, 03, 97, 02, 11, 99, 2000, 93, 95. Honorable mention, 14. How does this check out? what does this team need to do to break into the top 10? Can Skylar get in the conversation of fighting for 5th with Waters and May? What would it take?
