For ALL KSU alum, fans and supporters, as you go through the week as March Madness has begun, I want us to think and focus on something that should make you proud.
I know media will say it. I know fans and alum from KU, Missouri, Nebraska, and yes, Iowa State and Wichita State will recognize but not verbally say it, the 2016-17 athletic year for KSU should make ALL KSU fans, alum, supporters PROUD.
Gentlemen and ladies please stop focusing on who you think should be our coach in certain sports. Unlike EVERY team above, Kansas State University is the ONLY school that had a:
1. Bowl eligible football team
2. A Men's AND Women's basketball team in the NCAA TOURNAMENT.
3. An NCAA volleyball team
4. And who knows what else we do this spring.
Instead of trying to outdo and debate your point, we are ALL KSTATERS and we should be proud of our alma mater.
Tomorrow, with exception of Mizzou, KSU will be mentioned in another Selection show. Our name, Kansas State University will be spoken to the nation once again. Be proud fellow Wildcats. Believe it, KU, Missouri, Nebraska, Wichita State would give ANYTHING to have their fans, their marching band celebrating in the stands or stadium doing their own song like Wabash Cannonball and cheering a "bowl team", making out their "Men AND Women's " brackets and bouncing to the cannonball in arenas.
Yeah, I'm PROUD to be K State. And so what if we were the LAST team in the NCAA Men's field. I can guarantee EVERYONE -- and all you have to do is go on social media with Mizzou, Nebraska and yes, Illinois and right now, they would kill for a sports year K-STATE ALUM AND FANS should be extremely happy about. No matter if we got there easily or we squeezed in, hell, I'm glad I'm not one of those schools.
So I say, hell yeah, KSU, eat em KSU Wildcats. Get that Cannonball going!!!!
