How bad was it? #97 total defense (yards) and #128 (out of 129) in passing defense (yards) but lets look at stats closer...

The top passing offenses in the nation were:
1) Oklahoma State
3) Oklahoma
5) UCLA
10) Texas Tech
12) WVU
23) Baylor
33) Iowa State
35) Texas

Best total offenses in nation were
1) Oklahoma & #4 scoring offense
2) Oklahoma State & #3 scoring offense
14) WVU & #18 scoring offense
17) Texas Tech & #26 scoring offense
18) UCLA & #30 scoring offense

K-State was #37 scoring offense

Scoring defense, the one that really counts:
#60 in scoring defense which was 5th in Big 12 behind #12 TCU, #29 Iowa State, #31 Texas, and #52 OU

2nd most important stat is redzone defense
#30 K-State was 2nd in Big 12 behind #2 TCU

Turnovers are another big difference maker:
#33 Kansas State was 2nd in Big 12 tied with Oklahoma State and Texas and behind #5 Texas Tech. Including 3 defensive TDs (should have been 4) behind Texas' 6 and TCU's 4

TO Margin #15 K-State was 3rd in Big 12 behind #12 Iowa State and #14 Texas Tech.

Although K-State gave up a lot of passing yards, their passing efficiency defense was #88 which was 5th in Big 12 just behind #86 OU.

#19 Rushing defense was 3rd in Big 12 behind TCU and Texas
