Kansas State and LHCBS has become well known around the Big 12 and the nation for taking walk-ons
and developing them into All-Americans, All Big 12 or Big 8 before that, and several have gone on to the pros.
Why K-State has become so well known for this is due to the coaches under LHCBS that teach good fundamentals and give the walk-ons a chance to earn a spot by not making them second class citizens as they are at many other schools. If the walk-ons (or any player) buys into LHCBS goals and works hard they can succeed. Coach makes sure their is nothing in their way if they want to earn a spot on the starting team.
I'd like us to develop a top ten or more of walk-ons that have made a difference at Kansas State. Maybe by honoring those who showed what they had and rose to the top it will encourage more players to walk-on and prove they can play at a top level and continue the tradition that Kansas State has become well known for. I really like that blue collar work ethic these guys represent as they proved themselves. So add your list or your favorite walk-ons. I do not presume to think I know enough to start a top ten or maybe a top 20 list, but I'll put a couple of my favorites out there. Jordy Nelson and B.J. Finney. What are your thoughts for best walk-ons?
