There is no way K-State will ever have enough talent level to compete with the rest of the big 12 by strictly recruiting high school kids. The geography is just not in our favor. We do not have an advantage in Kansas City or Wichita or any other major recruiting hub. Bill Snyder knew this and he recruited the juco ranks hard to make up for it. Every one of his top teams had a significant number of juco studs on it.
