He has said in the past that he isn't looking for "quick fixes" but let's be honest, he hast too, especially at three positions: WR, LB & RB
WR: It's obvious, the WR's on this team are just flat out bad!! It's not that they're hurt, or limited, they're bad!! They can't get open & if/when they do, they drop the passes, no matter how perfectly they're thrown. More than likely Skylar isn't coming back next year, so this means that KSU is going to go in to 2021 with a true Frosh & Soph. They've gotta have someone that can get open & catch the ball. I never though I would just crave for Curry Sexton to be the #1 receiver on a team. But I would almost kill for him right now. We can talk about the recruits that KSU has committed so far this year & Jaelon Travis, but if he can't beat our any of these receivers now, why do we think he will next year?
LB: KSU doesn't have anyone on the depth chart! They just don't. Yes, Sullivan & Hughes could come back next year, but do you really want them too? I would be ok with Sullivan coming back, but not Hughes. Green has looked good at times, but that isn't good enough. The frosh LB's haven't been able to even make it on the field, so then we're going to rely on them next year to make plays? Two JUCO LB's or transfers here would be huge.
RB: Vaughn needs help & we all know that unless it's against KU every game, Trotter ain't the answer. It really seems like the coaches have lost faith in Wright & where has Mozee been? None the less, KSU needs someone at this position like what they had last year at RB. Klieman has said that he likes playing this position by committee, well they don't have anyone else right now or on the depth chart other than Vaughn.
I know that the 2021 class is pretty full as it is & who knows what will happen after the season, but unless fans just want to look towards 2022 as the year they will take the "next step" the recruiting habits need to change.
