Biggest story few people are talking about locally.

This stuff is getting out of hand. Not sure how many of the KS residents on here have gotten notice of having a fraudulent unemployment claim, filed on their behalf. I had one about a month ago, and more and more people around me, are getting them.

Took part in a virtual conference last week where state leadership spoke (Atty General, House and Senate Leadership, and Governor). It's amazing the lack of accountability the State is taking on this. The State's unemployment insurance fund is basically broke due to the cavalcade of fraudulent claims brought forth, and lax procedures at the Dept of Labor, which have sent dollars out the door to fraudsters. Here's an amazing stat, Kansas, sitting at #36 in terms of population, has been in the Top 3 of states for unemployment claims every week for the past 2 months. That's how much fraud is going on.

I've heard stats that it's possible the fraudulent claims sent out could total as much as $1B. The unemployment fund (which is funded by taxes paid by Kansas employers) is now basically "broke" as a result. Kansas businesses are about to get hit HARD with state unemployment tax increases in order to get the fund back to solvency.

Thank god Kelly is going to be a 1-term governor.
