Guys, if you could, please take the time to read the post below and consider attending this event this Saturday in Aggieville. I'll be there myself from 11:30 through the end of the K-State/Texas game (and probably later ...), recording some podcast content here and there and just enjoying time with fellow K-State fans.

This is officially a K-StateOnline sponsored event, and personally, I'd LOVE to see a KSO team step into this thing and be a first-time winner. And yeah, I need a team, msyelf ;)

Each FattyFest has featured a special Fatty-inspired edition of Auntie Mae’s “Trivia Smackdown” hosted by Jeff Kreuser, along with a raffle and silent auction that has included items ranging from VIP seats to K-State games and rare EMAW memorabilia to the more irreverent of collectibles such as KSTATEO posters and authentic Egyptian camel saddles. Past FattyFests have also included concerts featuring many different musical genres, comedy shows, karaoke, celebrity appearances, impromptu magic performances and many other unplanned shenanigans. It is an event not to be missed.

FATTYFEST 2017
We are extremely excited to announce that this year’s version of FattyFest will take place on October 7 at Auntie Mae’s. This move allows for our latest format change, designed to incorporate one of Shwan’s favorite KSU activities – owning Texas. The ‘cats will be taking on the ‘horns in Austin at 6:00 p.m., and this year’s FattyFest will include a watch party of the game.

FattyFest will begin with registration and the opening of silent auction bidding at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch provided by Bluestem Bistro at noon. We'll start the trivia contest around 1:00 p.m., and take that and the auction through around 5:00 p.m. There'll be a break to grab some dinner on your own and then return for the football game at 6:00 p.m., followed by celebrating across Aggieville thereafter.

This year’s trivia contest will also mark the debut of the new FattyFest trivia championship belt to be carried by the winning team until they defend it at FattyFest 2018. As always, Auntie Mae’s will be selling all of your favorite cocktails throughout the day and evening, with some special drinks and door prizes for attendees. We expect and encourage everyone to make a weekend of this event, and plan to celebrate Shwan long into the night.

Finally, we would be remiss to not thank our past and current sponsors that have helped made FattyFest a truly wonderful tradition. Local business sponsors have included Auntie Mae’s, The Chef, Tallgrass Brewing Co., Wahoo Fire and Ice Grill, Colbert Hills, The Bluemont Hotel, Rock-A-Belly Deli, Taco Lucha, So Long Saloon, and Harry’s Uptown. Additionally, too many people to be named have helped support the event and the Memorial Fund over the years by donating time, money, or items to be auctioned and raffled and we thank each and every one of you.

SEE YOU ALL ON OCTOBER 7!

100% of proceeds will benefit the Shwan “Fatty" Alkhatib Memorial Fund to help build a Collaboration Room as part of the Hale Library renovation at Kansas State University.
