If you look at the best teams in the Big 12 = OU, Baylor, TCU, & Okie State, with the exception of the OU debacle, K-State has played the better teams much better. WV played OU half-way tough (still loss by 20 points), but that was before OU cranked things up after losing to Texas.
WV didn't need a miracle finish to defeat Iowa State today, but on the stat sheet they didn't beat them as bad as the score would indicate. I believe Iowa State was totally devastated by last week's loss to K-State, not to mention the drama around their head coach being fired. Iowa State played tough in the first half but eventually folded their tents.
West Virginia has won their last 4 games... a win over K-State would give WV sole possession of 5th place in the Big 12.... lose and they will be in a tie for 5th place with a team that they beat at home, TT. TT has played much better at home than on the road this season.
3 of the 4 wins in WV's streak has come at home. The only road win = ku. WV did not take ku lightly after ku gave TCU a scare, plus WV needed a win to become bowl elgible. ku is WV's only road win in Big 12 play.
As I type on a Saturday night, I give K-State a 52/48 edge to defeat WV, largely because K-State is at home.
