In a move that should surprise nobody, KU has eliminated the title Special Teams Coach and demoted that person, Gary Hyman, to Special Teams Analyst. That's akin to an oxymoron; if you can't coach S.T., how can you analyze them? Interestingly, though, KU has hired the Offensive Coordinator at SMU and named him wide receivers coach. Jason Phillips was at SMU last year, and had previously been offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach at Houston. With the spread offense, KU now has two WR coaches, and "inside" and an "outside". That continues the trend among other spread teams in the Big XII to employ 2 WR coaches.

While we're talking about coaches, does anybody on the board believe there will be coaching changes on the KSU staff this season? @healthinv has hinted about this a couple of times, but nobody has followed up. Which, if any coach(es) would you like to see replaced with someone new? Both OU, OSU and now KU have made changes in their asst. coaching staff the last year or two with the same head coach remaining in place. I believe Kingsbury at TTech has also made a change, and possibly Briles at Baylor, but don't have all the facts on that. Perhaps we could set an over/under for the possibility we have a change this year - anybody want to set odds?
