After seeing Central Michigan squeak out a 3 OT win over Rhode Island and Ohio get stomped at Purdue last night, ku actually has a decent chance at going 3-0 to start the year. Not because they're good, but because their opponents suck. At that point, fans on here and the media will inevitably freak out and proclaim how good they are and that things are great in Lawrence. I just wanted to warn you all before that happens.
Central Michigan is not very good, but hopefully they make some improvements from last week. I still think ku will win today, unfortunately. As for next week at Ohio, the Bobcats beat them easily last year in Lawrence and were supposed to be pretty good again this year. But they're breaking in a new QB and lost some really good defensive players. Purdue handled them last night. But Jeff Brohm is doing good things for the Boilermakers, as they only lost to Louisville by 7 last week. I expect Ohio to play much better against ku, who is not as good as Purdue. Hopefully the ku road losing streak continues, but don't be shocked if they win.
If ku goes 3-0, don't be one of those who freaks out. They are not a good team. Take a wait and see approach towards them. They will not win more than one conference game, IMO. And that's if they win one. Baylor is awful and the game is in Lawrence. They also get Tech at home. But they are not all of a sudden a decent football team like the media will lead you to believe each time they beat a crappy opponent. If they go 2-1 in the Non Con, that will not mean they are improved from last year. If they somehow lose the next 2, it will mean they are probably worse than last year, or just as bad.
