The founder of Raising Men Lawn Care Service,Rodney A.Smith, paid a visit to the Pre K and had the kids doing the "bubble" mower training session. Mr Day's 3rd grade class turned out to help "mow." If you are unfamiliar with his program he encourages kids to accept the 50 yard challenge by mowing the lawns for Veterans, widows/widowers, single parents and those that are physically unable to do yard work. Different colored shirts as they achieve 10 20 30 40 50 lawns. At 50, they receive a new mower. Also, police departments, equipped with a special mower have accepted the challenge as a way to improve community relations.
This is one of my charities, Rodney does incredible work with communities, incl the homeless. I believe there are 10 kids in Kansas involved and kids from virtually every state. There aren't many feel good stories around today, but saw the twitter posts and the kids pics. Thot some KSU little Cats might have been involved. @imrodneysmith twitter.
