I know that a lot of people would like to have KSU hire a guy that has head coaching experience. But, are there any offensive or defensive coordinators that you would consider? I'll get it started:
1. Brent Venables. The OU defense has been a wreck since he has left & has the Clemson defense playing very well. He's succeeded at OU & now Clemson, is from Kansas, played at KSU & is a very good recruiter. But then there are some on here to claim that they know the "story", yet they disappear when asked about it. As far as I'm considered, I don't care who he was sleeping with almost 20 years ago.
2. Kirby Smart. The Alabama defense is always one of the top 10 defenses in the country. Now, is it because he's that good, the talent they get in, or both? Regardless, he is one of the top defensive coordinators in the country.
3. Scott Frost. Let's face it, Oregon's offense has been quite possibly the best offense for a long time. Frost has been the Offensive Coordinator for several years there & is a good recruiter. You could say that it is easy to recruit to Oregon & that would be true. But that is also the case at Bama & Clemson.
4. Jeremy Pruitt. The Georgia defense this year is just flat nasty. I watched them play Vandy last week (I know, Vandy is terrible) & they completely dominated them. He's won 2 National Championships at Bama & will be able to get really good talent at Georgia too.
If you have any others, have at it. But I don't think that when it comes to replacing Snyder that KSU should just completely disregard a coordinator that is available and very interested. What if Mike Bobo had never left for CSU, was still the offensive coordinator at UGA when Snyder retires & was really interested in the job? Would you tell him no?
