As a K-State fan, I should know better than to place much weight on recruit rankings.
If you get caught up in how many stars K-State recruits have, you will likely become depressed.
That said, why is Kaitori Leveston a 2 star recruit?
He had FIVE "known" Power 5 offers, including a late push by Texas.
I'm almost certain had Leveston flipped to Texas, he would have magically been granted a 3rd star (or would you disagree?).
And what's the story on Derick Newton.
Was Derick believed to be a qualify risk and other teams backed away?
Or does K-State see something others do not?
Derick is listed as a SDE, but K-State lists him as a D-tackle.
Derick will likely red-shirt next season -and- become very familiar with Chris Dawson...ha.
Perhaps add 15 to 25 lbs of muscle in his red-shirt year.
Given the fact that Derick had two P-5 offers, one from K-State and one from Virginia, one would think that the Rivals High Scepter could consider giving Derick a couple of stars...to fill empty space.
Again, I guess it really doesn't matter.
GO STATE !
