Congrats to Stockard and his Vashon HS teammates for winning their 2nd straight MO Class 4 state title (2nd largest class in that state), defeating Bolivar HS yesterday 44-32. As you probably guessed from the final score, this was a very slow paced game, sounds like Bolivar played a very compact zone and limited Stockard's touches. Good to hear that Stockard and his club were willing to do what they had to do to win.
I do not know what Stockard final averages for the season were, but I know he had 14 pts and 5 boards in the team's state semis W. Just following the team throughout the season, I think he averaged about 13 pts and 8 boards per game, while shooting over 50% from the floor. Also keep in mind that KSU has already offered a couple of Stockard's teammates, 6'8" 190 JR wing Joseph Reece and 6'1" 165 SOPH CG Mario McKinney.
Vashon finishes this season at 27-3 with all 3 losses coming to teams that eventually won state titles in MO, KS, and AR respectively. Title game writeup linked below.
