Like always, I’m very excited about the upcoming football season and I believe K-State is going to be significantly improved. I even feel an upset on Friday night..ha.
But what about 2 years from now?
Assuming Ertz gets another year.
With a two WR set, 8 of K-State’s 11 starters on offense will still be on the team (9 if you consider the RB position neck & neck).
Only 5 current starters on defense will still be around in 2 years, but they are critical spots (both corners, 1 safety, 1 D-tackle, 1 D-end. And we can agree that K-State has some promising young LBs.
I would not be surprised if Snyder & Staff go hard in the JUCO ranks in the 2017 recruit class… to address some potential holes / depth (thinking 2018).
I have no idea if the LEGEND will coach two more years, but 2018 could give Snyder a great opportunity to make a run at a NC.
Not that something magical couldn’t happen this year or next year : - )
