more of a free for all with football recruiting generally across the board than I can ever recall in the past. Seems like more and more recruits 'committed' somewhere early on to have a placeholder and then shop around until signing day looking for better deals. Even 'Boom' Massie just said he is excited to commit and then in next sentence talking about taking visits to Cal and Washington in January.

Texas is sitting on 12 commitments on 12/15, shoot under Mack Brown they had 20 or more commits by end of May. OU is sitting at 13, can't say I ever recall that few for the Sooners at this point in time under the entire Stoops era. Numerous other traditional power schools that typically have their coffers pretty much full by now and are waiting on a couple of 5/4 star players to decide towards the end are waiting on numerous decisions this year. Think it is going to be wild free for all in January that in many instances will be first contacts by schools with recruits and all the getting out early with offers last spring and contact since last summer will be meaningless in many cases with schools stepping in with glittery lights at closing time.
