BatCats - For those of you that don’t follow baseball closely, it was a rough week for K-State. We were stomped by Creighton midweek and CoC took 2 of 3 over the weekend. Both Creighton and Charleston hammered away at our pitching
Basketball vs. Creighton - damn, was that impressive! I’m usually not big on trying to measure motivation and “want-to” from an outsiders perspective but it was obvious from the onset that our guys had the mental edge. About 2-3 possessions into the game it was clear that we were going to make Foster our b*tch and rattling him permeated through their entire team. That was one of the most impressive defensive efforts I have seen from a Bruce Weber team. Creighton has a damn good team that beat Villanova this season and can legitimately score 90 points. Marcus Foster gonna Marcus Foster but part of me felt a little bad for the dude....kinda. Classy by both Bruce and Foster with the departing hug.
vs. the mighty retrievers - ugly game, but just what we needed! The first few minutes looked like we may try and get into a shooting competition. Glad we finally hunkered down and started to attack the basket! I was thoroughly frustrated by our inability to back cut their overplay on defense, but we got the W. Mawein continues to make strides and X was a beast down the stretch. Barry Brown was great as well. Definitely hurt not having Dean Wolf out there.
Local Banter - KU t-shirt fans are actually throwing shade at K-State for defeating an 8-seed and 16-seed en route to the Sweet 16. Totally anticipated it and it’s still ironically hilarious.
