Though it was an exhibition game, some of the reports sound promising. I was flipping back and forth between the world series & the K-State game... I thought the CATS look solid (but again, we are talking Emporia State).
For the most part, the CATS have a good non-con schedule given all of the new comers and lack of experience.
The CATS should be able to roll through their schedule to begin the year until the Hall of Fame CBE classic championship game.
I like the fact that K-State gets Mizzery in their first HOF CBE game.
Mizzery was awful last season and like K-State, Mizzery only returns 1 of their top 4 scorers.
In short, if the CATS lose to Mizzery, the season outlook will go from promising to not good...ha.
Assuming K-State wins (which I am), the CATS will likely suffer their first loss of the season against Roy Boy's North Carolina tarheels.
The next tough game will be against Georgia (on the road).
Georgia returns 2 of their top 4 scorers .... 3 good guards from last year's team.
Georgia was one of K-State's frustrating losses last season.
This year, as I type today, I would call this a 40/60 game.
And two games later, the CATS go on the road to play Texas A&M.
The Aggies return their top 3 scorers from last season.
This will be a tough game to win.
The CATS finish the non-con at home against St Louis, a game K-State should win.
I see K-State likely going 9 & 3 in the non-con, but maybe the CATS will knock off Georgia or Texas A&M to go 10 & 2. 9 & 3 would mean the CATS won the games they were suppose to win, but hopefully this team will come together quickly and knock off Georgia and/or Texas A&M.
11 & 1 would exceed expectations, but again, 9 & 3 (or 10 & 2) is more likely.
The CATS open Big 12 at home against Huggy.
GO STATE !!
