As someone who has been as hard on Mean Gene as anyone around here, I'm going to throw him a quick bone. He and the fundraising staff did a hell of a job fundraising the baseball/soccer stadium project. Exceeded the $10MM fundraising goal (raised $13MM so far), and if no other funds are raised, will only come out of pocket about $2MM from operations, to complete the project.
Not the sexiest of projects that will get everyone excited, but it was needed, and impressive that he got it fundraised in relative short order.
It's a good step in the right direction, showing he can actually deliver on something.
