I found it interesting and also fun to watch the number of mid range jump shots the USA took and made in the Olympic semi final against Aus and the final against France. Those mid range jump shots played a large role in both wins.
US made as many as 11 mid range jump shots made in the final against France and 13 made in the semi final against Aus.
Kevin Durant made 7 mid range shots in the final and just one three.
Greg Popovich was the head coach and I don't know if that was his intentional strategy or just what was working in those two games when threes were not going in.
