This is pure conjecture, but wondering if he was in the mix at all for AD.
Kind of an interesting career arc, AD at San Diego State, then Colorado, then apparently he was forced out after 8 years and landed at Cincinnati where he has been ever since. Played QB at Kansas in the early 1980s, so there is a loose connection to the state there.
Has some decent hires and some bad hires on his resume and couldn't really tell why he was shown the door at Colorado other than he was not getting along with their leadership (maybe that sounds a little too familiar to K-State fans).
Not saying he'd be good or anything, just hadn't heard his name come up at all and has experience at a power 5 level as well as at Cincinnati and San Diego State which are no slouches.
