But color me optimistic. Bill Snyder's youngest 2 deep ever just went toe to toe with a title contender in their stadium.
Did we make dumb mistakes? Yes. Did the refs make terrible calls (block in back) and no calls (3 PIs in end zone)? Yes.
The entire left side of our OLine started their first college games. Essentially, our QB started his first college game and attempted his first pass. 2 of 3 receivers started their first college games. Our D was facing a Heisman candidate. All this on the road in our first game.... when Snyder teams often sputter. Yet, we outgained our opponent and had opportunities to win.
I'm often wrong, but I think we'll be a handful by conference play.
