Brown - Just really like him. When he wasn't hitting, still busted his ass on defense and was THE leader.
Wade - looked great. He's going to continue his progression as a player and have a great year.
Sneed - Buys in so much on all aspects of his game. He's the kind of guy that you can live with when his shot's not falling. But, yesterday, just looked so much more fluid and comfortable on offense. What a nice, consistent stroke he has developed. No wasted motion (unlike Brown and Diarra). And, a throw back.....gets serious elevation on a mid range jumper.
Diarra - Great footwork. Thought (hoped) his handle would be better. Not a big fan of his shooting mechanics either, but it is a soft shot. Will provide depth, but see him struggling against the league's best. Very active though.
Mawien/Sallah - Looked like same players to me. Fairly high motor guys, who'll defend and rebound, but provide little offensively. Not really enough girth to really post up. Will provide good minutes, 10 fouls, and good effort. And, I think both are apparently able to shoot a little from floor. Pretty good pick-ups for late in the recruiting game.
Patrick - Better defensively, but not by much. Just not blessed with tons of athleticism. Didn't show much yesterday, but we know he can shoot.
McGuirl - Not ready. Won't play once big 12 starts. I thought he was taller.
Wainwright - Will be ready to contribute. Probably not great at any one thing, but is serviceable at many. Can defend, decent looking shot, and a little more explosive than I thought. Looks the part, too. Mature body. Seems to be a guy who'll buy into his role on any given night.
Stockard/Shadd - pretty similar, imho. Pleasantly surprised with both their bodies for frosh. Both worked hard down low and held their own (but it was fhsu). I will say.....I was pleasantly surprised by Shadd's athleticism for a big bodied freshman. And, he runs the floor well (as did Stockard) and he looks the part. Both these guys will eventually be more of banger types than Mawien/Sallah.
