I didn't have a problem with the GPC crew, in fact I liked them. I actually enjoyed the "fluff" articles as they provided perspective on the player, coach or whomever the subject of the article was. I usually clicked away feeling like I knew a little more about the person and had even more reason to like and cheer for them.

However, I did find that I had gone from logging in 15 or more times a day to a couple of times per week. When I did log in, I didn't stay long. I'd simply scan the thread titles, click one or two out of curiosity and rarely comment. I think it just got stale. It wasn't that the content we did receive was bad, it was just that the format hadn't changed much.

I logged in Friday morning while getting ready to fly back to Atlanta from New Orleans and saw "K-Stateonline.com."

"Did Fitz change the name of the site?"

I look for Wabash station but only find "The Foundation." "WTF"

The I see a post welcoming me to Kstate Online by Jeffrey Martin, who is apparently the new editor.

"Is that the guy who used to cover KSU for the Eagle? Cool. Wait. Did Fitz die?"

Seriously, that was my first thought. Lol

I then found out about the move to 247 on another thread. I went back and started reading the new content from J. Mart, Matt Hall (welcome back!) and Derek Young. It felt fresh. It felt new. I saw their interaction in the board and got excited.

I knew immediately that I was staying put. I did pay the 9.95 for 247 last night out of curiosity, then immediately put a reminder in my phone to cancel it on 1/1.

In any case, I've logged in more on this site in three days than I have in the previous month. I hope the new staff keeps it coming. I hope they are always thinking of something new, even if it's just a refresh. I hope we still get a good "fluff" article every now and then. I hope we get a former basketball player to get insight from like we have with the former football player. I hope the excitement continues...I'll be here for the ride...
