It's their business decision and if it makes sense financially, they should do it. As for K-State, I think this is a great opportunity for K-State. The 810 signal at night (when 80% of the games are played) is weak. I have a hard time getting it in KC. So it's not like the signal was being blasted across the Midwest for most of the games.
Next, K-State now has an opportunity to find a station with a stronger night signal who truly has an interest in K-State, not just football and basketball. A station that won't cut away from post game at the first opportunity, bump coverage to sister stations, and might even carry some women's sports. I think there are a lot of K-Staters in the KC area who look forward to that opportunity.
Wish 810 the best with KU, but this could be a better deal for K-State in KC over the long run.
