The comment about this league being embarrassingly terrible (to paraphrase) got me to wondering about how leagues have performed (relative to their seeding) in the tourney.
I only went back to 2014 (first year KenPom had the B12 ranked as the top conference) and excluded play-in games (same seed) and Final Four/National Title matchups (some same seeds, and the B12 has only had one team get there).
This angle is far from flawed and requires more labor-intensive research to be truly accurate, but I thought this provided an intriguing snapshot.
Looks like the B12 tends to get upset fairly often while rarely upsetting others, though part of that might be due to having a higher average seed than most.
