Need advice on Memphis travel route

Coming from central Kansas, I have heard conflicting views on the best/quickest/easiest route to take driving to Memphis. Through Wichita/Tulsa or through KC/St Louis. Have heard through Springfield is a lot of slowing down. And now with the flooding, etc., there are additional concerns to consider.
Any advice?
