Network Television: Are we that starved for sects?

My wife and I watch zero network television, so it's a pretty rare occasion that I have any knowledge of what the "hot" TV show are...

I am bouncing around a couple channels during commercials of the Giants/Niners game...happen to catch a couple previews for Quantico and Blood & Oil...about 90% of each was dedicated to nothing but sects scenes between the leading couples.

Are there no good plotlines anymore?
