After some pursuit over the last several weeks, Todd Summers reached back out to me this evening to inform me that K-State has given him a grayshirt opportunity.
Summers, a TE/DE prospect from Franklin Regional in Murrysville, PA, was first contacted by K-State back in early December. I checked in with him shortly after and mutual interest between the two has steadily increased since.
As a senior, Summers tallied 39 tackles, 19 for loss, and five sacks in addition to 10 receptions for 220 yards and four touchdowns. Those stats earned him a spot on the Greensburg-Tribune Review's Terrific 25. He's also a standout basketball player and has attained a varsity letter all four years.
Thus far, the 6-foot-6, 225-pound target holds offers from Army, Villanova, VMI, Stony Brook, Albany, and Robert Morris. I'm interested to see where this GS offer ranks among those other, more 'local', scholarships.
