From the Albuquerque Journal:
"Visiting Cleveland capped an undefeated regular season as the state’s best prep football team sailed into the playoffs by winning the District 1-6A championship, 44-14 over Rio Rancho on Friday night."
"Cleveland also was undefeated in 2011. The Storm (10-0, 4-0) surely will be the No. 1 seed for the coming playoffs."
"Ortega, who rushed for 109 yards, added a 72-yard TD run in the third quarter. He threw for 201 yards, with a TD and two interceptions. Nieto rushed for 134 yards and two scores."
"“We didn’t care where it was (that we clinched district), we had a great week of preparation and it really showed tonight,” Cleveland’s Stanford-bound lineman, Henry Hattis, said."
Brian Urlacher visited the CHS team in their locker room and on the sidelines. Urlacher, from Lovington, NM played high school football with Coach Ridenour. Coach's older brother was in the same class as Brian Urlacher. Pretty cool seeing him on the sideline.
