Usually, I add a third source to Study Hall, another former starter who also would prefer to remain nameless. I just got some fun insight to some questions I asked them, so I thought I'd share it on here. The "Player Y" thing is kind of a joke, just making clear this isn't the same player as Player X.

MH: What's your perception on how much risk K-State really does or doesn't put its QBs in by using them so heavily in the quarterback run game?
Player: K-State puts a huge risk on their QB’s by utilizing them in the run game. For several years now their QB has been the primary ball carrier. There are obvious benefits to using the QB in the run game and it is something that coaches feel is worth the risk. It is also something that as a QB coming to K-State you have to expect. You’re going to have to carry the football. You’re going to take some hits.

MH: Receivers continue to have issues with drops, how hard is it for that group to regain their confidence when these issues keep popping back up?

Player: It is definitely difficult to regain confidence in receivers after consistent drops, but a lot of that confidence is built in practice as well. K-State has several very quality receivers on its roster and I’m sure based on where they are on the depth chart, they are showing it in practice. Those guys get probably 30 catches a day in practice, but maybe only 3-5 opportunities in a game. It’s a matter of knowing that each of those guys are more than capable, but at times have struggled to take advantages of the opportunities that matter.

MH: What are you impressions so far with what you've seen from Alex Delton and Skylar Thompson?
Player: Both Alex and Skylar have shown some bright spots so far. Alex has shown great capabilities on the ground and mixed results through the air. Obviously TCU was rough, but for the most part he threw well vs. OU and decent vs. KU. With Skylar the playbook was clearly limited, which is understandable still being young in the system. He did show good poise going in and made several instinctive plays to keep drives alive. Both have potential, but need to continue gaining experience. Some other players around them will have to help them and make up for learning pains that may arise.
