I'm right here
Teams are switching from a 4 man front to a 3 man. Now the prototype NT is a monster, often over 340 lbs. His job is to hammer the Center and Guard in order to plug the middle.

Centers (at KSU at least), the smallest man on the OL.

Centers by and large are never platooned, and everyone knows the risks of inserting a new center into a game. But I'm wondering if times have changed and the Center position needs to be re-thought.

Having two capable Centers would give us some advantages:

1. They would stay fresher with shared snaps.
2. They would be more able to wear down the huge NTs they face.
3. Subbing Centers regularly gives the team and QB familiarity with cadence and snaps. This could be a gamechanger in situations when one Center gets injured and a new Center otherwise comes in with no prior experience.
4. There is no reason both Centers, with regular usage, would lead to botched snaps or motion penalties. Probably would be less likely, especially in emergency situations.

The OL that is freshest often is the difference in winning or losing late in the game. OLs don't sub as often as DLs, but we have the depth to make a difference at the end of a game. I think including the Center is a rotation makes sense.
