(1) KSU very athletic at all the spots. This improves the team defense that HCBW employs. At almost all times KSU defenders moved well and cut most driving lanes by moving thier feet. +++HUSTLE
(2) MU very size deficient and will have problems rebounding all year. Look for another poor season in Columbia. The MU fan base that I talked with last night think that Anderson might be shown the door after this year.
(3) KSU took advantage of (2) by hitting the boards hard. Amazing to me how KSU has improved on boxing out. Last few years rarely saw players with good fundamental boxing skills. Now all positions much improved. Kudos to the coaching staff.
(4) Although KSU had a bad night shooting, the shots they did attempt were good ones. Rarely did I see KSU heave up a bad shot.
(5) Guard play light years better than last year.
(6) UNC very tall and athletic. On offense very refined and have bigs that can consistently make the 10-15 jumpers in the lane. Pass the ball relatively well. UNC relies on passing the ball to find the open shot--usually a midrange jumper or a 3 from one of their many pure shooters. Not a lot of driving to the basket.
(7) UNC deficiencies show up on the defensive end. They consistently get out of position and gave easy driving lanes to NW. Little help rotation on defense and when it did show it was late and half-hearted. If NW had any interior offensive presence the outcome would have been considerably closer than what I witnessed last night.
(8) Sprint Center a sterile environment. Little to no excitement at all. Perhaps this was due to neither game being close.

UNC can be had. UNC relies on its offense and size to win games. This team does not play good defense. If UNC shooting is off-from what I saw last night-they can not rely on their defense to win games.
