Loved my time on campus 1967-1972. That was in the Vince Gibson days and I still have a soft spot for old Vince because when he came in he totally changed the pride the students had in our school back then. We hadn't won a game in three years before I enrolled and it happened to be Gibson's first year. He got a win on the road to kick the school year off and we swarmed the airport to greet the team! He brought in a lot of great players, Including Lynn Dickey, Steve Grogan, Clarence Scott, Mack Herron, Davy Jones, Joe Colquitt, Cannonball Bill Butler, and a guy named Mo Latimore to name a few off the top of my head. Sonny Yarnell along with Davy Jones were good receiver's then. First year I watched the season in old Memorial stadium and my 2nd year was there for the first year of what is now Bill Snyder Family Stadium. I can recall watching it be built and watched the old field house we called the castle burn. I'll never forget that night. I was so sad and worried the fire might spread to other buildings. I also was one of the founders during my years at KSU of the Blue Valley motorcycle club. Last I heard it is still going .Sorry for wondering off on old memories. Forgive an old guy, we tend to get sentimental. I bet some of you were on campus then!
