I was watching the Boise State game last night against Virginia. BSU had a true freshman QB who was starting his first game. As QB he ran a larger variety of plays that we have this season. He had touch on short passes and ran counter type passing plays. He looked a whole lot better than Joe after Joe has been in the offensive system for over a year.
The BSU Oline seemed athletic and could run out on screen passes. Their running back seemed comparable to Silmon and was good at catching passes out of the backfield which is something we rarely do.
Looking at the player talent one conclusion could be that BSU is outrecruiting us. The second thought i had is how can BSU run a much more varied offensive play scheme, with a first time freshman QB starter, be very successful with their plays and we can't
I think Coleman and Seiler do a good job of recruiting but the other older coaches are not doing that much. I would have no problem replacing Miller and Latimore with better recruiting coaches. Also, I would trade Dimel for the BSU OC in a heartbeat. I think Snyder needs to shake up his coaching after this season in order to improve recruiting and future program success. However, I don't think he will.
