The 1st half fouls were KSU 7, Texas 3. Texas got to shoot a half dozen more FTs in the first half that accounted for the 8 pt halftime lead. Yeah, they blocked a lot of shots, but they also fouled us (lower body) many times that were not called.
Fouls were KSU 10, Texas 6 in the second half, so much the same result thus the 12 pt. loss. KSU ended with 7 of 9 FTs, while Texas had 15 of 22. Ridley played 30 minutes before ONE foul was called on him!
It's just all soooo predictable. As many have posted on here, it is just ruining the game.
In the KU game, the refs nearly pulled it out for ku. With under 10 seconds left, and OU up by three, ku throws the ball the length of the court in front of the ku bench. The ku player makes the catch and puts up a 3 pointer that misses badly, but Self ensures the ref calls a 3 shot foul there was NO foul.
ku ties the game, then Hield dribbles the length of the floor carrying one of the ku players the last 15 feet but no foul was called on ku. Luckily Hield gets the ball to the basket where another OU player tipped it in for the win. But just disgusting officiating for ku at the end.
When and how does this all stop? IMO it might help (hell, it can't hurt) if the telecasts would show the number of fouls on each team on the screen during the game. They show the bonus status when it occurs, but why not show the team fouls in that same space during each half. If the fans could see the discrepancies as they occur, maybe the announcers would then talk about the discrepancies, and ultimately something could get done. There was NEVER anything mentioned about the foul numbers by the announcers in either game. They clearly wanted Texas to get credit for blocking every shot we put up, and they even more clearly wanted ku to win that game. WTF is happening in college basketball?
