There is no discussion of the game on Saturday so I thought I would try to spur a little discussion.
I think it will be an interesting game. Oklahoma's strengths appear to match up with our weaknesses and vice a versa. They are a good passing team and our secondary is suspect. They are weak up front and struggle to run the ball we have a strong front seven and (outside of a couple of big plays last week) have a solid run defense. We have a questionable passing game and they have a very good secondary. We have a pretty decent running game and they are average to below average against the run - just got gashed last week by Texas.
Most of the trends appear to favor the Sooners. They have not lost in Manhattan since '99. (I think - didn't look it up. I know it has been a while). The road team has won the last 4 match ups. Stoops has not lost consecutive regular season games since his first year.
The recipe to success is to play our usual game. Run the ball, control the clock, and try to limit OU's big plays. I think we will be able to do the first two and the game will be decided by our secondary.
