@KSULB52 has convinced me "it counts" and by that I mean, it counts as it pertains to players and coaches, the ones that are materially invested in the game. Thank you.
@Panjandrum has a done a great job of explaining that one can't wholly judge the coaching staff on the results of this season. I agree that this season has been much more difficult to establish the team concepts, the coaching relationships and player interactions that are required for a successful team. Thank you.
There are a few posters (or trolls) that have stated they believe based on the results of the season, KSU needs to fire HCCK...there's no value in recognizing people for absurd ideas...just move on.
So where I'm at in this discussion...
Yes, I agree it counts and particularly to those named Vaughn, Thompson, Boye-Doe, Moore and Hughes (to name a few) as to what they did or weren't able to do on the field. Let's remember all of the players for the effort they gave in a incredibly difficult situation.
Yes, I agree the season has been a train wreck from a coaching perspective. And I mean that from both sides, the context of the situation...quarantines, no complete team activities, contact with players is limited etc and the results, losing the last 5 games.
That said, I continue to strongly support HCCK and his staff. It is far too early in his tenure to make any decisions nor to force any decisions on him. This season was known to be a difficult one and frankly, the results are only a little worse than what I originally expected (pre-Covid).
