I sat next to a very nice high school basketball coach from Texas at the game last night and he told me that our "star player", I prefer not to mention kids names but you know who I am referring to, has one foot out the door but it's not entirely basketball related. It seems that our fallen star, in addition to being unsatisfied with his role on the team, also believes that he is not being challenged in the classroom. In this guy's words he feels that our man thinks he can do better than K-State, both athletically and academically, and he plans to take his talents back to the State of Texas. I asked him how close he actually was to the situation and he said "very close". Our player was a National Honor Society member in high school so maybe there is something to this.
