I'm gonna go ahead and open this thread for DY and I to talk out some thoughts from what we saw at practice today.
Maybe we go position by position and share what we saw, and we'll spend some time talking through some of these things before adding thoughts in each new post. And, shoot, if you ask some questions about what we saw, we'll probably answer them.
I'll start with a couple QB notes.
Once K-State got split into position units I saw the QB rotation go like this for reps:
1. Thompson
2. Ast
3. Lewis
4. Holcombe
5. Hennington
Now, does this mean anything? Probably not. I've heard a lot of Holcombe working with the twos this spring, and I still believe he and Lewis will be the two most battling for that second spot.
Another note was they did a decent amount of work on read option type stuff. I was kind of surprised - as I don't expect that to be a big part of the offense - but, then again, you still have to work on it if you want at all. Collin Klein was a little more demanding on specifics than maybe I would have expected, too, and that was interesting to see.
