Have any of my fellow cornstars put anything in the ground yet? Especially you guys down towards the SE part of the state?
Soil temps are finally really close to where they need to be up this way, just needing a couple more days to dry, then we will go like hell. Some guys put in a few fields of dryland down towards Miltonvale last week. Little pocket down there where they missed the big end of recent rains. Didn’t start until April 16th last year and that was pushing it. At least we had some field work done ahead of the planter last year! By mid-week, we will be spraying, gassing, planting, and doing the daily cattle routine all simultaneously....it’s going to be nucking futs.
Rock out with your stalk out.
