After having the same bed for over fifteen years, we were long overdue for a new one.
Had a pretty great experience this weekend with a local company that makes their own stuff. I think they are just here in Iowa with four or five locations. The company is called Lebeda Mattress Factory.
We went pretty high end since we will have it for quite awhile. We got a split king and each Twin XL weighs more than our old king mattress from Denver Mattress Company. Two layered spring set and heavy latex top. The mattress topper spring set is thinner than the bottom one and has over 2000 coils.
Never thought I would drop that kind of money on a bed. The sales gal had been with the company and said her bad was over 25 years old and going strong.
We picked out a bed on Sunday. They made it on Monday. Delivered it on Tuesday. Thirty day test drive, but they will alter the mattress to your liking for free in the first two year ... reworking it to softer or firmer. 10-20 year warranty depending on what you get. We also got Legett & Platt adjustable bases, since my wife sometimes reads in bed and I like sleeping a bit upright.
