Some of you may recall a LONG time ago (February) I posted on here asking about diminished value after I got significant damage done to a vehicle with 10K miles on it. CarpetGuy gave me the name of his buddy David, at Wreck Check KC.

I contacted David, and he was very helpful. As my insurance had taken things over with regard to the repair, I took my time. By July, it became clear that Farmers (the at fault driver's insurance company) was not even going to communicate with me regarding Diminished Value or Loss of Use, and State Farm (my insurance) wouldn't touch that part of the claim.

This is when I got David from WreckExpert.com (Wreck Check KC) involved. Dude prepared a 51 page document for me which outlined my loss of use and estimated diminished value. Let's just say that now 8 months after the Super Bowl Sunday wreck, I'm about to be made whole again. The Jeep suffered over 20K in damages which have been fixed (I got it back in late April after 67 Days in the shop) and is driving like the day I drove it off the lot. Problem being, if anyone carfax's the thing, it's gonna show as wrecked.

With David's help, I've gone from not even getting a response from Farmers to settling for just over 7K in diminished value and Loss of Use.

Long story short, thanks to CarpetGuy, and big props to WreckCheck....I'd recommend ANYONE that suffers a loss that is not their fault to contact him to make sure the insurance companies don't try to screw you over.
