OT: Home monitoring/security camera system

I'm going to be away from my home for several weeks this summer. I'm wanting to put in some kind of home monitoring/security camera system so that I can monitor things from my mobile device (or just wifi) to make sure things inside the house are fine (i.e. no break-ins, no water damage, etc.).

I believe I could go with a self-installed system, or could go with a more professional security system (e.g. ADT or someone else).

Anyone have any suggestions for a self-installed system, or any suggestions for a more professional system?
