I'm going to come off slightly or highly angry here, but that's the point I'm at right now.

Read an article this morning about a cop that was responding to someone writing a bad check at a convenience store in Missouri yesterday. Long story short, he gets in a fight, shot in the chest, and ultimately lost his life. Plenty of people in the area who could have helped him or.possibly saved his life, but instead, they were recording with their phones or even live streaming on Facebook up past the point of other officers showing up and performing CPR on him and shouting at him to stay with them.

Stories like this make me get on my own kids more than I should because they talked about being YouTube personalities here and there. They've been banned from YouTube for probably about a year now as well. I feel like I'm constantly on them to involve themselves when they see someone who needs help instead of just standing there, which is apparently the new normal.

I'm encouraged by the stories coming out of the last few school shooter situations where young people have rushed to stop the threat, which usually costs them their lives but saves several others. I hope there are many more of that type of person than the pos live streaming someone dying in front of them.
