I didn't see this posted on here, NSIAP. An absolute icon. Dude grew up a share-croppers son on the Delta, served in the Army, was a professional baseball player, recorded over 20 #1 country songs and was a part-owner of the Texas Rangers. The guy's bio could be a pretty legit movie! We ventured into Coahoma County to see an old family cemetery during the Liberty Bowl trip last year, it's not far from Sledge. Unbelievable rural poverty to this day. Rags-to-riches doesn’t begin to describe this man’s journey. RIP Legend.
