OT - Setting up a biz to run out of garage

I have a company that would like me to make some "parts" for them, but they are saying I need a DBA (Doing Business As), and an EIN so they can set me up in their system to pay me.

Obviously, I'll do some googling as well, but does anyone have any experience with this?
